Housing

It is thought that the Federal Housing Tax Credit pulled some home sales forward in 2010, perhaps even distorting the year-over-year comparisons in the short term for Indiana.  Though year-to-date sales are 6.3 percent statewide, sales of existing homes declined 28.8 percent in July 2010, compared to the same month in 2009.

According to the Indiana Association of Realtors, the median sales price declined 1.5 percent in July 2010 after raising for nine months in a row. The year-to-date median price is up 2.4 percent for the State.

The statistics below reveal data on the Indiana Housing Market for counties of Vigo, Clay, Parke, Sullivan, and Vermillion which comprise the Terre Haute MSA.  These statistics are part of the August 2010 "Indiana Real Estate Markets Report" compiled by Indiana Association of Realtors.
